My first destination trip into full-time RV life took me to eastern Kentucky.
Red River Gorge hosts the Kentucky River and somehow science knows the only river older than it, is the Nile River in Egypt. This gorge is now a place for destination weddings and rock climbing. Miguel’s Pizza is also a camping paradise for primitive rock climbers. My favorite place to eat in the gorge is the Rockhouse. The Red River Rockhouse provides vegan food to grass-fed cattle from the community.
There are many campgrounds and Bureau of Land Management places to boondock in this area. Most are located in the Daniel Boone National Park and a little rough trying to drive anything larger than a van. My photos didn’t turn out clear. That’s ok, in the Spring I will probably return.
